Dear students,

The lecture-free time is coming closer again and we have prepared several events for you, which we would like to introduce to you in this newsletter. Furthermore, we would like to inform you about a very important point when it comes to politics:

The ÖH elections are taking place from 19th to 21st of May.

You are only eligible to vote at the ÖH elections if you have paid your ÖH or tuition fee until March 31st (!). So don’t forget to pay on time!

# Diagonale 2015. Festival of Austrian film

As cooperation partners of the Diagonale Graz we are sending you the following information:

With the Austrian premiere of Karl Markovics’ “SUPERWELT” the 18th Diagonale opened on Tuesday in Graz. The festival of Austrian film is still running until March 22nd and presents the vast range of Austrian filmmaking with several competitions and a large number of international and Austrian premiers. In the framework of the Diagonale Prize-giving ceremony on 21st March Austrians most highly-recognised film-prizes will be given. All information about the programme and tickets can be found on:

http://diagonale.at

# Diversity Mainstreaming of the ÖH

Only an inclusive ÖH is a legitimate and believable students representation and acts as a role model. The opening of the ÖH brings more active students into the house, which in turn is good for the image of the ÖH.

Here you can find the final report of the Diversity Mainstreaming Project of the ÖH Uni Graz:

# Soccer as culture? – a challenge

Klaus ZEYRINGER and Gilbert PRILASNIG together

Regardless if in intellectual or regular’s table discourse – soccer moves, excites, thrills, emotionalises. Political instrumentalisations of sport (used to) define also the historical development of soccer in Germany, Spain, Argentina and, lastly as could be seen, during the World Cup in Brazil. Where does the most popular type of sport come from? Is sport its own culture? Does soccer reflect social problems? Are sports to be seen as a duplication of the working world? Those are questions that will be discussed in the framework of this event.

Time: 7pm
Location: HS 06.02 (Vorklinik Lecture Hall B)
