Maike Bauer (2022-)

  • Field: Physics
  • Specific Field: Space Sciences
  • Topic: Improving solar storm modelling with machine learning
  • Tasks: Chair (2023 – present), organising events

I joined the StV because I want to help create a sense of community among PhD students from different fields of research. Bringing students together helps us get a sense for the issues that might be important to people in different departments, and what we can do to make everyone’s PhD experience a little bit better.

Anantha Krishnan Sen Saji (2022-)

  • Field: Molecular Biology, Biochemistry
  • Specific Field: Aging, Lipid Metabolism
  • Topic: Novel regulatory mechanisms of lipid metabolism in Drosophila melanogaster
  • Tasks: Co-chair (2023 – present), Outreach, CuKo (2022 -)

I am in StV because I was always interested in representing the Ph.D. student community. As a member of StV, I would like to connect with more students and find solutions for the issues that PhD students face, be it regarding the curriculum or the work pressure in their studies.

Dominik Polterauer (2021-)

  • Field: Chemistry
  • Specific Field: Continuous Flow Chemistry
  • Topic: Multistep synthesis of active pharmaceutical ingredients using continuous flow technologies with process intensified conditions
  • Tasks: Co-chair (2023 – present), Activities Committee, Treasurer, Monthly Drinks

I am a part of the StV Doctoral NAWI, because I would like to create a platform where PhD students of the NAWI faculty can network with each other. As part of the StV I would like to focus on organizing social events, such as a Buschenschankfahrt, monthly drinks or a sports tournament.

Bashir Bwogi (2023-)

  • Field: Pharmacy
  • Specific Field: Pharmaceutical Chemistry, Molecular pharmacy, Pharmaceutical cell biology
  • Topic: Influence of cell-cell interaction forces and extracellular matrix’s mechanical properties on cancer invasion.
  • Tasks: Mobilization, Events planning and coordination

I joined StV to broaden my social circle through interactive discussions (regarding the welfare of PhDs), field trips and the hangouts. I would like to share my experience and plan fun activities with new members so that they avoid drowning in the pressure of their
research.

Alejandro J. Cambronero-Delgadillo (2023-)

  • Field: Psychology
  • Specific Field: Cognitive Psychology and Neuroscience
  • Topic: The role of interruption in visual search.
  • Tasks: Outreach

As part of the StV Doctoral NAWI, I am dedicated to improving the PhD program and connecting students with society. My focus includes supporting the student community and fostering a collaborative environment across disciplines. Through organizing social and educational events, I aim to build a vibrant network that enhances both the academic and personal lives of PhD students, ensuring a supportive and inclusive environment.

Dominik J. Fleischhacker (2023-)

  • Field: Molecular Biology
  • Specific Field: Infection Biology
  • Topic: Interaction of bacterial-born membrane vesicles with intestinal cells
  • Tasks: CuKo

I joined the StV PhD NAWI because I want to help other people and I am very interested in other NAWI fields besides my own. I have been part of different levels of student councils since 2015, providing a deep knowledge of student law and annoying formalities. Therefore I´m looking forward to connecting and helping other people.

Manu Gupta (2021-)

  • Specific Field: Astrophysics
  • Topic: Solar Flares
  • Tasks: Outreach, Organizing tours and trips

I have joined the StV Doctoral NAWI because I wanted to help students new to Austria, improve interaction among doctoral students, and for that purpose organize events and fun activities such as hiking trips, tours of chocolate factory, Christmas market and Buschenschanks. events.

Robin Guttmann (2021-)

  • Field: Chemistry
  • Specific Field: Theoretical Chemistry
  • Topic: High-accurate Calculations of hydrogen-bonded Systems
  • Tasks: Website admin

I am part of the StV Doctoral NAWI, because I want to support new PhD students and connect people of all different fields in natural sciences for fruitful discussions.

Smirna Malkoc (2021-)

  • Field: Psychology
  • Specific Field: Educational Psychology, Vocational Psychology and Gender Research
  • Topic: Transformation of education in the time of Covid-19 pandemic and beyond: well-being, resources, and barriers among students
  • Tasks: Co-chair (2021-2023)

I signed up for my StV because I would like to stand up for the interests of my fellow students. Representing the interests of underrepresented groups in the university sector (e.g. women, first generation academics, students with a migration background) is my major concern.

Michael Prieschl (2021-)

  • Field: Chemistry

  • Tasks: Networking, Monthly Drinks, CuKo (2022- ), co-chair (2022-2023)

I am a part of the StV Doctoral NAWI, because I think connections between the different fields of natural sciences are very important. I want to enable more exchange between the fields through social events and make the life of PhD students easier.

Eduardo Rial(2023-)

  • Field: Chemistry
  • Specific Field: Continuous Flow Chemistry and Automation
  • Topic: Artificial intelligence-assisted electroorganic synthesis
  • Tasks: Outreach, Newsletter

I am a part of the StV Doctoral NAWI because you do not get far in science if you walk alone. Everyone benefits from being surrounded by other PhD students, both inside and outside your field of study. However, this can be sometimes challenging. That is where StV Doctoral NAWI helps!

Henrik Siboni (2021-)

  • Field: Chemistry / Physics
